Golf Betting Club is a leading golf tipping site. The website had originally been built through website templates and do-it-yourself prototype structures. We worked with the client to discover what problems they were having with their current website, how they would like to develop the site in order to reach new audiences and how the new build would respond to their current audiences needs and behaviours.

After carrying out an analysis on their current site, the local web designer team at Rhys Welsh recommended their priority should be focused on user-experience and developing a site that is efficient, interactive and delivers on customer experience.

The Challenge – How to increase traffic to your website through great design
Golf Betting Club’s previous website was self-built on a templated structure, meaning their website was restricted and ended up being quite confusing for users. The client felt they had outgrown their previous website and needed assistance building a site that had not only could keep up with the demand of their customers but also has customer experience and useability at the core of it.

The Process
The website redesign process began with strategic pre-project planning, propelled forward by a design vision that focused on the clients’ business goals. At Rhys Welsh, we take a methodical approach to our website projects; ensuring organisation and a clear vision as to what we are trying to achieve.
For Golf Betting Club, it was important that the end-product looked good, but even more important that the site was easy to navigate, structurally perfect and showcased the content efficiently.

With the client involved in the process from the get-go, we began by familiarising ourselves with the client’s content. Once we understood the type of content that their users would be engaging with, we could design the site with that in mind. As a tipping website, we knew that in this case, the user’s needs would be positioned around how easily they could digest the content. We constantly referred to this point throughout every phase of the redesign, meaning the design of the site was centred around user-experience.

We were able to create a site that has a polished look and feel by:
-    Incorporating existing brand colours
-    Using strong imagery
-    Positioning content perfectly
-    Creating pages that could be navigated effortlessly

The Results
The result of designing a website with an experienced web builder is that the site is based on a foundation of careful planning. The end-result is a website that is easy to navigate, easy for users to interact with and is maxed out on customer experience.

Since launching, the site has received almost 40,000 sessions, with many visits coming from The United States, showing that the site has scaled incredibly well. As well as this, most hits are coming through organic search, and the client stated that they are around 25% up on where they forecast they would be for the year.

"Rhys immediately understood our needs and requirements from the project. He took a keen interest in what users want from a golf betting website and that has resulted in a site which delivers an excellent customer experience. We're delighted with our new website, feedback has been great and we can't recommend Rhys and his team enough!’"
